Cub Scout Pack Camp
This is another of my favourite camps that I’ve had the ability to organise with the help from other Leaders. Thanks to the efforts from the Leaders of 1st/2nd Ocean Grove and Leopold Cub Scout Packs, this camp ended up being successful – with all the youths mummifying toy koala bears (wrapping them in white gauze), and placing them in a hand-made sarcophagus.
The youth’s also were able to make a four sided pyramid complete with a covering of white sand.

Cub Scout Pack Holiday (under canvas)
Complete with tepees, costumes and more, this camp will remain always one of my favourites that I organised. This camp was organised with joint effort from a 1st Grovedale Cub Scout Leader that is no longer in Scouting and myself.
The amount of youths that attended this camp made it a success. We had Cub Scouts and Leaders (plus a few Scouts) from 1st Drysdale – Talia Pack (I wasn’t with Portarlington Scout Group at this time), The 1st Grovedale Cub Scout Pack, Leaders and Parent Helpers and 1st Emerald Cub Scout Pack and Leaders.

Victorian Cuboree – 2005
What do you get when you put approximately 3600 Cub Scouts, in a small area like the Gilwell Scout camp, in Gembrook, Victoria, with over 1000 leaders, rovers, parent helpers and venturers?
Answer: Noise (a lot of this), laughter, and most of all FUN!
Our Cub Scouts experienced the chance of a lifetime attending this four-night camp in tents (under canvas), and participating in the activities below.
- Cherry Lane: Spare time activity area
- Go Extreme: Camp Roswell (Alien Theme)
- Go to the Movies (Movie making)
- T.I.’s Pirate School (Pirate Adventures)
- C.S.I. (Cub Scout Investigation – Join the special agents and find out how to solve crimes)
- Tony the Toymaker (Join in with the fun and make your own puppet)
- Go Medieval (Knights in armour)
- Concert
- Disco on the lawn
- and more … … … …
The photo below is what it looks like when over 4500 people join in for the closing of the Cuboree 2005. Finishing it off with the theme song and actions to the song ‘Cup of life’ (Ricky Martin).
